Purchase Strategic Asset VEOs

Strategic Asset VEOs Purchase Flow

Access the VEO Purchase Page

1. Navigate to the VEOs section in Lucid.

2. Click View to open the purchase page for the available market of your choice. (e.q. peaq VEOs)

Step 1: Select the VEO

  • Navigate to the VEOs section and select the “View” button on any Strategic VEO listing (e.g., PEAQ VEO).

  • You will see key VEO details including:

    • Current price and discount

    • Total remaining capacity

    • Vesting period

    • Max payout

    • Strategy and type (e.g., Oracle Sequential)

Step 2: Prepare Your Tokens

  • Strategic Asset VEOs accept tokens like USDT, USDC, or ETH depending on the issuer.

  • If you do not have the correct token on the correct chain:

    • Use the Bridge Assets button in the top right corner of the purchase screen to open Lucid’s Bridge Portals

    • Alternatively, use a DEX on the destination chain or bridge tokens from a CEX.

Step 3: Purchase the VEO

  1. Select the token to pay with (e.g., USDT)

  2. Enter the desired amount to bond

  3. You will see:

    • The amount of governance tokens you’ll receive

    • Your vesting end date

    • The current discount

  4. Review and click “Buy Bond” to confirm the purchase.

  5. Once confirmed, the bonded assets are non-reclaimable and are sent directly to the protocol’s treasury.

Now that you’ve swapped for the vested tokens, remember to return to the dashboard periodically to claim them. You can access it via the “My VEOs” button or the “Home” button on the left sidebar.

Example

If you bond $100 of USDT into a VEO with a 10% discount, you receive $110 worth of the project’s governance tokens, linearly vested over time. Your funds are permanently locked in the protocol’s treasury, and the tokens are streamed to your wallet.

Step 4: Claiming Vested Tokens

Chart Components Explained

The chart on the Strategic Asset VEO purchase page provides real-time visibility into how the VEO bond price compares with the market price over time. It’s designed to help users evaluate the current discount and make informed bonding decisions.

Curve

Description

Blue Dots (Market Price)

This represents the real-time price of the token being bonded (e.g., USDT). It reflects the fair market value.

Purple Dots (VEO Price)

This shows the current bond price offered in the VEO. It is dynamically updated based on the pricing strategy (e.g., Oracle Sequential).

Orange Line (Discount %)

This tracks the percentage discount offered by the VEO compared to the market price at any point in time. A negative value (e.g., -6%) means users can buy the token at a discount.

How to Read the Chart

  • When the purple (VEO price) is lower than the blue (market price):

    • A discount is available.

    • The larger the gap, the bigger the discount.

  • The orange discount curve helps visualize changes in the discount over time.

    • It may increase or decrease based on market conditions and VEO strategy.

  • Use the 1D / 7D / All toggle below the chart to zoom into shorter or longer timeframes.

Why it Matters

This chart helps users:

  • Time their entry: Decide whether to buy now or wait for a better discount.

  • Understand market alignment: See how the bond price evolves relative to real token prices.

  • Gain confidence: View transparent pricing mechanisms and historical changes.
